How to fix frizz and flyaways on the go
Your hair looks fine leaving the house. By the time you're at the office, the school gate or the dinner, the front has puffed up and there's nowhere to plug anything in.

What causes frizz
Dry or damaged hair absorbs moisture from humid air and swells, which causes frizz. Rain, steamy bathrooms and rough towels make it worse.
Sleeping on cotton, tying hair up when wet and overusing heat also roughen the hair surface.
Prevent it before you go out
Blot hair with a soft towel or t-shirt instead of rubbing. Use a leave-in conditioner or a little smoothing cream on the ends.
A silk or satin pillowcase and a loose scrunchie overnight help too.
Using a cordless straightener well
A cordless straightener is for touch-ups like the fringe, front sections or flyaways. It isn't designed to replace a full mains straightener on very long, thick hair.
Use the lowest heat that works, especially on fine, bleached or colour-treated hair. Always use heat protection, use only on dry hair, and do one slow pass rather than several quick ones.
Charge it fully before you head out and keep it in a heat-resistant pouch or let it cool before packing it.
Salon blow-dries vs. touch-ups at home: the honest maths
A salon blow-dry looks great but rarely survives a rainy day. A $83.05 cordless straightener saves you from redoing your whole style and is handy for travel.
If you only straighten at home and never on the go, a basic mains straightener may give you more for less money.
Safety
Keep heated plates away from your scalp, ears and neck. Never leave it on when you put it down, and keep it away from children.
Check your airline's rules for rechargeable devices before flying. If your scalp is irritated or your hair is breaking a lot, reduce heat and talk to a hairdresser or doctor.
